Moviefone, a service of America Online, secures a spot as one of the top ten online movie ticket services on the web. This website provides enough interactive movie clips including trailers, interviews and movie making videos to keep you entertained for hours.
Combine this with movie synopses and easy-to-search theater and movie-time listings, and you get a winning service. Moviefone is in partnership with movietickets.com to provide an online box office. This service, however, doesn't offer some of the ticket-buying options the top-ranked sites provide, like evite, discounts or gift certificates.

Feature Set:
Like the movies it publicizes, moviefone is entertaining. This is a site you can visit to get the scoop on movies and even watch informative video clips. This website provides reviews of 16 movie critics and allows you to see what film is topping the charts this week. You can even post a review of your own on the message board. We were disappointed though, that the site doesn't provide movie content information until you've begun the process of purchasing the tickets.
Moviefone uses the services of movietickets.com to provide online tickets. And, since some of the features moviefone doesn't offer are provided by movietickets.com, this partnership makes for a nearly complete online-movie-ticket-vending package.
Theaters/Locations:
Because moviefone operates through movietickets.com you'll have access to the 46 movie chains offered. The site lists most movie theaters, even if they don't sell their tickets. Use the search feature to find a participating theater near you.
Price:
The tickets are normal price, plus a $1 service charge per ticket. You can't purchase gift certificates or find group rates on this site.
Ease of Use:
Moviefone is a breeze to navigate and find the information you want. All links are well structured and a handy search box helps you look for movies. But, be careful-it's easy to get distracted by the numerous, entertaining video clips that they supply.
After you choose to purchase a ticket and moviefone directs you to movietickets.com the transfer is seamless and you won't get lost in the process.
